Red Giants Basketball Club Offers VIP Cinema Experience for Supporters

Watching your team win from an armchair. The expression will take on a concrete meaning from Saturday, in the Saint-Sauveur room in Lille, in the North. The Lille basketball club, called Red Giants, offers a unique experience for its supporters: attending a match like at the cinema. While waiting to see, perhaps one day, the matches broadcast live on the big screen.

Example from the NBA

“We took the NBA as a reference where ultra-VIP spectators can attend matches in optimal comfort conditions,” explains Lille Métropole Basket (LMB) which plays in ProB (2nd national level). The principle: four cinema seats, loaned by the Kinepolis of Lomme, will accommodate four spectators during the next two home matches, against Vichy and Poitiers.

“Spectators will be placed near the pitch, with drinks and headsets to follow live commentary of the match,” continues the LMB. The commentary is provided by a former glory of the club, Emilien Barbry, thanks to a special device. “Spectators and commentators can communicate in real time, during the match, thanks to ambient noise filtering technology,” underlines the club.

An initiative, a priori, unprecedented in France. “The system will be renewed depending on the success it meets,” specifies the LMB. The 4 VIPs will be two supporters who participate in a game on Instagram, a long-time fan of the club and a social media personality. »
