Recognizing the Unsung Heroes of Judo: A Tribute to Dedication and Commitment

Ludwig Tradler (7th Dan) as deputy district chairman carried out this honor and also gave the corresponding laudatory speech. He emphasized the importance of voluntary commitment to sport: “What does a national coach, state coach, district coach do when no well-trained young talent comes from below, from the clubs? The club trainers are the midwives for the successful judoka. The appreciation of such volunteers cannot be high enough,” says Tradler.

Doris Angerer has been a judoka since 1976 and holds the 4th Dan. She took part in competitions as a teenager and later fought with the Bayern team at tournaments in Austria, Italy, Hungary and Latvia. In 1995 they even made it to the first Bundesliga.

As a Kyu examiner, she is more than helpful to the clubs with their training. »Doris is always there and takes on the tasks when needed. She works tirelessly in training with the children and young people and as a coach on weekends. Their diverse activities mostly take place in the background, but always for the benefit of judo sport,” emphasized Tradler. Doris Angerer was also on the district board of the BLSV and BSJ for 12 years. She has been a trainer in the club for 33 years and has been responsible for the judo department and the ASV-Strub for 23 years.

Rupert Haueis has been a judoka since 1974 and holds the 5th Dan. He also started competing in his youth and from 1978 onwards he played league matches in the district, state and Bavarian leagues, as well as competitions with various teams in Italy, Hungary, Austria and France. His outstanding successes include 2nd place at the International Kata Championships in Vienna 2006 and 3rd place in Linz 2007.

Haueis has led countless training courses at the clubs, especially for the central examinations from 2nd Kyu and the Dan examinations. “His judo skills and understanding are extraordinary,” says Tradler. He was also employed as an examiner at many Dan examinations throughout Bavaria for more than ten years. The training of young people is particularly important to him: “He is always available when the district or district needs a trainer for exams. Thanks to his human and professional competence, Rupert always manages to motivate the young judoka not only for exams, but also for competitive judo.” Rupert Haueis has been on the mat as a trainer in the club for 28 years and has been the first department head at the club for 23 years ASV-Strub, plus 30 years as district audit officer in the Upper Bavaria district. fb
