Real Betis Baloncesto Coach Javi Carrasco Steps Down After Series of Defeats

Javi Carrasco has ceased as coach of Real Betis Baloncesto, a position he had held since the beginning of the season, after the recently relegated Sevillian team has accumulated five defeats in the first six rounds of the LEB Oro league.

Betis, penultimate classified, has only been able to win so far its match on the fourth day at the Melilla court, which is bottom with the same number of victories as the green and white but a worse point difference.

This dismissal puts an end to the third stage of Javi Carrasco, a 44-year-old Sevillian, on the bench of the first team of the club where he trained as a coach, where he already served as interim coach at ACB in the 2014-15 season, after the departure of Scott Roth, and three seasons later, when Óscar Quintana left.

Sources close to the Mexican company XOY Capital, which acquired Betis Baloncesto last summer, have informed EFE that the name of Carrasco’s replacement will be announced throughout Monday.
