PSSI Technical Director Confident Indonesian U-20 National Team for 2025 World Cup Will Be Stronger than Previous Generations

tvOnenews.com – PSSI Technical Director, Indra Sjafri, claims that the Indonesian U-20 National Team which is projected to take part in the 2025 U-20 World Cup will be better than the team in the era of Egy Maulana Vikri and friends.

Indra Sjafri was officially appointed by PSSI as coach of the U-20 Indonesian National Team which will take part in several tournaments. One of the targets given is to qualify for the 2025 U-20 World Cup finals.

It is very likely that the players who fill the U-20 Indonesian National Team will come from the U-17 Indonesian National Team. Currently, Garuda Muda is fighting in the 2023 U-17 World Cup which is taking place in Indonesia.

According to Indra, the U-20 Indonesian National Team will be populated by players born in 2006-2007. These players will be combined with more senior players born in 2005.

“You can imagine players born in 2005 who now in fact have played a lot in League 1 like Kadel Arel etc. combined with the national team born in 2006-2007 who have had experience playing in the U-17 World Cup,” said Indra when giving a press statement, Saturday (11/ 11/2023).

According to Indra, the U-20 Indonesian National Team will be much better than the era of Egy Maulana Vikri and his friends. At that time, Garuda Muda was just one step away from qualifying for the 2019 U-20 World Cup.
