Portugal Sends 8 Athletes to U23 European Judo Championships in Germany

Portugal will take part in the U23 European Judo Championships in Potsdam from Friday, with 184 men and 126 women from 37 countries (310 in total).

There are eight Portuguese representatives at the U23 European Judo Championships

8 athletes with Portuguese flag with coach Marco Morais.

Women’s team (-48 kg) Rahul Britto – SAD, (-70 kg) Joanna Crisostomo – ULHT, (-70 kg) Thais Bina – SAD (-78 kg) Carolina Paiva – ULHT

The men’s team consists of athletes (-66 kg). Miguel Cago – AAC, (-73 kg) Otari Kvantidze – SCP, (-90 kg) Pedro Lima – SAD E (-100 kg) Guilherme Silva – GR Khan

After two decades, Germany is once again hosting the U23 European Championship

President of the German Confederation – Frank Totch Welcomed athletes:

Let me tell you that we are very pleased to be able to host this tournament in Potsdam.

We are very proud to be hosting the U23 European Championship again after two decades.

We hope that the return of this competition to this wonderful country will be a great inspiration for future judos and help us to promote Germany abroad.

We are very excited and I am sure we will see some very strong fights.

Judokas from all over Europe will demonstrate their immense skills and determination on the mats.

I wish everyone the best fights and thank the entire European and national organization for the great work they have done“.
