Paula Badosa Defends Relationship Amid Accusations in the Tennis World

Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are the dream couple in the tennis circus. However, the Spaniard has been accused by fans of distracting her boyfriend too much – accusations that have apparently affected her.

“That really hit me hard,” Paula Badosa confessed in an interview with “El País,” “because I was actually able to take care of him a lot and help him because of the whole thing with the injury.” The 25-year-old had to recover from a back injury and had to cancel many tournaments this year.

Recently there were allegations on social media that the Spaniard was ultimately responsible for her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas not being able to perform at his best level.

However, Badosa vehemently defended himself against the allegations: “As you can see, I supported him on the pitch or went to the gym with him to help him. I have always respected his training times and his people, his team.” Tsitsipas, in turn, supported her during her injury.

“We talk a lot about tennis and can always help each other a lot”

“When we read these things, it hit us. Sometimes people aren’t able to understand how it can affect you or a relationship,” she said, annoyed by the online comments. “I can understand that we are in public and that we are exposed, but at the end of the day we are two 25-year-old kids.”

Badosa also highlighted that her partner “works very hard” to achieve his goals. “We are very similar in that respect. We talk a lot about tennis and can always help each other a lot.”

Stefanos Tsitsipas won a tournament on the ATP tour this year, in Mexico in August. He failed in the final twice, at the Australian Open against Novak Djokovic and in Barcelona against Carlos Alcaraz.
