Paris FC – Bordeaux: a capacity almost doubled, Girondin supporters awaiting appeals launched

The free operation at the Charléty stadium will experience its second episode this Saturday evening (7 p.m.) for the arrival of Bordeaux during the 15th day of Ligue 2. For two weeks, Paris FC has been able to debrief on the positive points and those to improve compared to the launch of the operation, last November 11 against Bastia (1-0). For this gala match, the number of available places has almost been doubled: 15,000 against 8,000 against the Corsicans.

The Parisian club especially wants to reduce the number of no-shows (absences), almost 2,000 spectators having reserved their tickets on the club’s website not having come. “The watchword is: take what you will use,” emphasizes Fabrice Herrault, the general director. We also advise spectators to come earlier than 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. because when everyone arrives at the same time, it creates a bottleneck in front of the ticket offices. » Against Bastia, five minutes from kick-off, the queue, which stretched all the way to the tram stop, was indeed impressive.

“We deeply regret this situation”

But on Wednesday, a new element came to disrupt the smooth organization of the meeting in the evening. Following a ministerial decree, the Police Prefecture banned the presence of Bordeaux supporters at the Charléty stadium. A visitor park of 1,000 supporters was expected.

“If we wanted to receive Bordeaux supporters in the best possible conditions by opening and securing the visitor parking area in its entirety, we are forced, by these decrees, to prohibit entry to the Charléty stadium to any person claiming the quality of supporting the Girondins de Bordeaux or behaving as such. Rest assured that we deeply regret this situation and that we are also suffering from it. Paris FC hopes that these decisions will not cause more problems than they are supposed to resolve, particularly inside the stadium,” Paris FC wrote in a press release.

The club and the authorities fear that Bordeaux supporters could enter a “normal” stand and gather, which could cause security problems. They were still waiting this Friday evening. After having referred the matter to the Council of State following the ministerial decree, the ANS (National Association of Supporters) filed a “freedom” interim order against the prefectural decree to the Paris administrative court. Both hearings took place this Friday afternoon. The verdict must be announced by Saturday morning at the latest.
