3′ reading Senigallia 05/11/2023 – The sensational coup, desired and sought, of those that can be worth double in the economy of a season. Pallacanestro Senigallia conquers PalaCampanara 79-78, inflicting Loreto Pesaro’s third defeat of the season, the second in a row.

An excellent team performance with 4 men in double figures and, above all, the ability to always stay in the wake of their opponents and overcome at the decisive moment, then managing the final. But let’s move on to the news.

Game which, after a minute of nothing, lights up with triples: first Maruca, then Brigato which is followed by two in a row from Landoni. Pesaro, then, soon ends up in the bonus with Casoni immediately burdened with three penalties: from the unfavorable situation Pesaro reacts with a 7-0 which brings it to +5, 18-13, on which coach Gabrielli is forced to call a timeout with 2′ left from the first mermaid. The disadvantage remains the same with Broglia scoring the free throws to make it 22-17 for Italservice with whom they go to the first break.

First three minutes of the second quarter of great difficulty for Goldengas: 4 free throws, Tognacci’s bomb and Battisti’s basket make Pesaro fly up to +12 at 31-19; Giacomini and his teammates, however, with a 14-2 score, rewrote the tie in the match with Italservice who never found the way to the basket. The usual Broglia takes care of unblocking the hosts but Medizza and Sanna produce the counter-overtaking with 2′ left in the second quarter. Loreto, however, puts their aim back in place and with Tognacci and Maruca writes the new +5, 45-40 at half time.

Start of the third quarter in which Goldengas is the protagonist: triples from Brigato and Neri give wings and fuel the 10-2 run with which Senigallia scores the 50-47 in their favour; Pesaro finds the new draw from the line at 52 with just over three minutes left until the last break. From there begins a fight on the thin edge of balance with the teams also showing the first signs of tiredness given the demanding week: at the last siren the scoreboard reads 57-56 for Loreto Pesaro.

At the start of the last half, Battisti’s 2+1 puts Pesaro back into the lead by two possessions. Possession after possession, however, Goldengas closes the gap and, with a 13-0 run scored mainly by Sanna (2 bombs and 3/3 free throws) reaches +9, 73-64. But it’s still a long way off: Casoni with two triples, interspersed with Pesaro’s excellent team defense, bring Loreto back to -3, forcing coach Gabrielli to call a timeout. Pesaro tries in every way to mend the gap: 33″ from the end Maruca has the two free throws in his hands for -2 but misses the second, on the other side Giacomini’s 1/2 puts 2 possessions between the two teams 13″ from the final siren. Casoni rewrites the -2, 77-75, but Brigato responds with 2/2 which puts 4 points back between the two teams. Pesaro, however, dies hard as is the value of its players: Casoni scores a triple for -1, Brigato misses the two free throws with 1″ left but on the second, voluntary, there is no time for a response. It ends 79-78 for Senigallia, Goldengas conquers the PalaCampanara for a heavy and desired victory!
