Against Partizan Belgrade, the home team went into the half-time break with a two-point lead (53:51). However, it didn’t look like that for a long time, because in the first twelve minutes the home team weren’t up to par defensively and made things too easy for Partizan. Only when the FCBB was able to increase the intensity did the guests have problems and rarely finish. Munich shot a whopping 60% from the three-point line and was also able to rely on its very agile guards Carsen Edwards and Sylvain Francisco.
Munich puts everything into the balance
After the break, the hosts continued to focus on defense and didn’t allow Zeljko Obradović’s team to take any shots for a long time. The FCBB even had a double-digit lead before the guests came back with a little run. Individually, the Munich team had advantages on both sides of the court, but was that enough to get the points here? After 30 minutes, the FCB basketball players were on track and led 70:63.
In the last quarter the hosts couldn’t take the butter off their bread. It was a hard-fought game in front of national coach Gordon Herbert and former soccer world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger.
In the end, the Munich team celebrated their third victory in the eighth EuroLeague game and were able to catch up with Partizan Belgrade on points in the table.
