Olimpia Pesaro Shines with Victory Over Perugia

After last week’s stop in Ancona it was important to immediately return to victory and so it happened. At the Palazzetto San Sisto in Perugia the Pesaro team always lead the match, but not without some difficulties. As always, the blue and white team had an excellent start, posting a 10-1 run that steered the match in the right direction. The Umbrians broke free and, with the drop in concentration of the Pesaro players in the 2nd quarter, they reduced the distance by closing at half-time with the score 33-30 for Pesaro. Upon returning from the locker rooms, the Pesaro team scored a 17-0 run which practically closed the match. The last 10′ are rather balanced and the match ends at 48-66 for Olimpia.

The coach’s words: “I am certainly very happy with the victory which gives us morale after the defeat in Ancona. I cannot say the same for how the match went tactically. We must certainly avoid lapses in concentration and aggressiveness, especially in defence, like the one we had both yesterday and in Ancona in the 2nd quarter, which could prove decisive in the next matches.”

Now head to training, with Olimpia who will observe their rest period next week and will return to play on Saturday 2 December, at the Celletta, against Blubasket Spoleto.
