“Old People at the Stadium” Calendar: Nursing Home Residents Get Sporty for 2024 Olympics

In the corridors of the La Kissel nursing home, in Hettange-Grande (Moselle), the “Old people at the stadium” calendar never stops circulating among the residents. Supported by the entertainment team of this establishment for the elderly, the project of a calendar featuring several dozen residents in a sporting context is creating a buzz.

With the prospect of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, several dozen elderly people have agreed to play the game of photo illustrations around Olympic sports: football, cycling, canoeing, boxing, fencing, archery. They have given up their image rights for productions that combine sporting equipment and attributes with a large dose of humor and detachment. “All our residents are exceptional,” says host Carole Peter.

“There was real fervor in the establishment”

The “Sos Seniors” group chose this way of communicating to also celebrate its 10th anniversary. With five photos per month (taken free of charge by nursing home staff), the 2024 calendar will illustrate nearly sixty residents.

Humor was the guiding principle of the nursing home entertainment team. DR

“This created dialogue and emulation between them,” continues Carole Peter. There was real fervor in the establishment. Humor was our guideline. »

Published in 150 copies for the moment, the “Vieux du stadium” calendar has gone like hotcakes, with only a few units left for sale (10 euros) at reception. The money will go into a pot intended for an upcoming summer trip.
