Norway missed the direct ticket for the European Championships through qualification in October. Now one thing is certain: the Scandinavians will have no chance of making it to the playoffs either.
The 2024 European Football Championship will take place without superstar Erling Haaland. The Norwegian goalscorer’s hopes of qualifying were finally dashed after Israel missed out on direct qualification after losing 2-1 to Romania.
Because: Norway no longer has a mathematical chance of qualifying through the playoffs. Until Saturday, the team around Manchester City’s top scorer still had hopes of achieving that.
In contrast, another goalscorer, Robert Lewandowski, still has the opportunity to take part in the European Championship with Poland via the playoffs. Although his team currently has no chance of a direct qualification place in Group E, everything is still possible thanks to the Nations League.
