Seven Austrians there

After Franz-Josef Rehrl had to cancel at short notice yesterday due to illness, he is back on the start list today. Because he hasn’t been able to collect any World Cup points yet, Rehrl has to come off the beam quite early. Paul Walcher is the first Austrian to go off the beam with start number six. Rehrl follows with number 13. Florian Kolb, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, will also be there with starting number 21. Thomas Rettenegger follows with starting number 30 and Martin Fritz with number 41. After strong results from Johannes Lamparter and Stefan Rettenegger, the two Austrians can be found in the top 10. Stefan Rettenegger has start number 50. Last year’s overall World Cup winner, Lamparter, will be the last Austrian to start with start number 52.

Successful World Cup premiere

Today, after the World Cup premiere in the Individual Compact, the Gundersen method is used for the men. Yesterday the Norwegians achieved a very good World Cup result with places one to three. In the end, Jens Lurås Oftebro won the 7.5 kilometer run ahead of his compatriot Jarl Magnus Riiber and his teammate Jørgen Gråbak. The best German was Johannes Rydzek, who narrowly missed the podium in fourth place.
