New York Jets Shake Things Up: Tim Boyle to Replace Zach Wilson as Starting Quarterback

After a more than disappointing performance against the Buffalo Bills, a one-sided 32-6 defeat, the New York Jets must face the facts and shake things up.

While coach Robert Saleh did not want to comment immediately after the match on the future of quarterback Zach Wilson, who was benched during the game, now sources close to the team reveal that the die has been cast in the case the former first round pick.

According to Dianna Russini, of The Athletic, the change will be made from the next match while Tim Boyle will be the team’s starting quarterback for Friday’s game against the Dolphins in the NFL’s first “Black Friday” game.

After three consecutive losses, and a 4-6 record for the season, the Salehs no longer really had any justification to explain the use of Wilson during games in the absence of Aaron Rodgers.

Speaking of Rodgers, he said this weekend that he is targeting Week 16 for a return to play if the Jets are in the race for a playoff spot.

Which is not the case at the moment.

Undrafted in 2018, Tim Boyle wore the uniform of the Packers, Lions and Bears before ending up with the Jets this season. He made three starts for the Lions in 2021, without much success with a 0-3 record.

In the game against the Bills, he threw an interception while completing half of his attempted passes (7 for 14 for 33 yards).
