New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones undergoes surgery for torn ACL

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The Giants said Jones underwent surgery Wednesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The club’s orthopedic surgeon, Scott Rodeo, performed the procedure.

Jones was injured on a non-contact play in the first half of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 5.

He fell to the ground on the last play of the first quarter. After being examined on the sidelines, he returned to the game and fell again on the first play of the second quarter.

A magnetic resonance imaging test performed the next day revealed the nature of the injury.

Jones signed a US$4.160 million contract this spring. He finished his season with 108 completions in 160 attempts for 909 yards, two touchdowns against six interceptions.
