MLB Star Shohei Ohtani Donates 60,000 Baseball Gloves to Japanese Schools

Major League Baseball star Shohei Ohtani, who is expected to break the bank this off-season, will show great generosity by donating 60,000 baseball gloves to all primary schools in Japan.

At the center of discussions these days because of his status as a free agent, the one who excelled with the Los Angeles Angels was able to divert attention from his next paycheck by promising to help the young people of his native country.

The 29-year-old Japanese will supply equipment to about 20,000 schools, he told major league baseball’s website on Thursday. “I hope the kids can spend their days happy with a lot of energy thanks to baseball,” said Ohtani, once again in the running for the American League MVP award.

Several teams are said to be aggressive in acquiring Ohtani for the 2024 season. Injured at the end of the year, he revealed that he will not pitch during the next campaign, but that he should still be able to hit. He hit 44 home runs in 2023, a record in the American.
