Latvian goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikin did not participate in last night’s National Hockey League (NHL) game, in which his Columbus Blue Jackets team won. “Blue Jackets”, with Merzlikin remaining on the bench, beat the Boston “Bruins” team 5-2 at home.

Yegor Chinakhov stood out for the Columbus team with two (1+1) points, while Dmitry Voronkov, Justin Danforth, Kirill Marchenko and Ivan Provorov beat the opponent’s goalkeeper once more. Matthew Patras and John Beecher scored for the Bruins.

Spencer Martin saved 31 shots for the home team and was named the game’s first star, while at the other end, Jeremy Swayman first dealt with 17 pucks, but after he was replaced by Linus Ullmark early in the second period, Boston’s other goaltender saved 18 more throws.

With 18 points in 23 games, the Blue Jackets are in 15th place in the Eastern Conference and will play their next match on Wednesday against the Montreal Canadiens.

On the other hand, the defender Uvis Balinskis was left out of the game, in which he represented the Florida Panthers, who beat the Ottawa Senators with a score of 5-0.

Sam Reinhart scored two goals for the winners, Sam Bennett scored two (1+1) points, Carter Verhegi and Etu Luostarinen each beat the opponent’s goalkeeper, while Aleksandrs Barkov assisted in three goals. For the Florida unit, Sergej Bobrovskis had a “dry” game, who saved all 20 home shots. “Senators” goalkeeper Jonas Korpisalo managed 33 pucks.

The Panthers are in third place in the Eastern Conference with 27 points in 21 games and will next face the Toronto Maple Leafs on the road on Tuesday.

Still Buffalo Sabers without injured Zemgus Girgenson beat the New York “Rangers” team with a score of 5:1. The success of “Sabres” was facilitated by Alex Tuck with two accurate shots, Casey Mittelstead stood out with three (1+2) points, while Kyle Okposo and Jon Peterka scored one goal each. The only accurate shot in the ranks of “Rangers” was on Mika Zibanejad’s account.

Sabers goaltender Uko Pekka Lukkonen saved 25 pucks on goal while New York’s Igor Shestjorkin stopped 34 shots. It should be reminded that Girgenson suffered an injury last week, which will keep him out of action for several weeks.

With 22 points in 22 games, the “Sabres” are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and will face the St. Louis “Blues” on the road in their next match.
