The ambush ended with stick blows to the head so violent that the 35-year-old was left unconscious on the asphalt with a deep wound to his skull.
The municipal police intervened on the spot, following a 118 report regarding a probable collision with the cyclist. However, when the officers arrived on site they immediately realized that the causes of the injuries were not attributable to a road accident but to an assault.
The cyclist, rushed to the Santo Stefano hospital in Prato for head trauma with a deep wound to the head, once discharged went to the municipal headquarters to file a complaint, without, however, being able to provide useful elements for tracing the victim. perpetrator of the attack.
