Man Arrested for Vandalizing Yuba City Target with Baseball Bat

YUBA CITY, California – Police officers in Yuba City, Northern California, arrested a 25-year-old man for destroying and vandalizing the interior of a Target supermarket with a baseball bat.

After 5 pm on November 21, agents arrived at a Target store after receiving multiple reports about a subject vandalizing the supermarket.

Both employees and customers had to evacuate the building for safety reasons, detectives reported.

When authorities arrived at the scene, the man was detained without incident as he left the store with the baseball bat.

The suspect, who until that day had worked at the supermarket, was identified as Macio Bonilla, 25, and was booked into the Sutter County Jail where he faces charges of theft and vandalism.

Target suffered more than $100,000 in physical damage and property loss, including multiple credit card readers, several glass refrigerator doors, and other items on shelves.

No one was injured during this incident, authorities added.
