PHILADELPHIA – For the second time this season, Penn football freshman running back Malachi Hosley was named Penn Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week.

Hosley enjoyed one of the most impressive rushing performances in program history in a 23-8 victory over Cornell on Saturday. He ran for 261 yards—the third-most in Penn history and most-ever by a freshman—with two touchdowns, one of which went for 96 yards. That run is the longest offensive play in program history.

For his performance, Hosley was named FedEx Ground FCS National Freshman of the Week by Stats Perform, Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. He’s just the second player in program history to win two Ivy weekly honors in the same week and tied the program-record for Rookie of the Week awards in a season at three.

Hosley and the Quakers have a crucial Ancient Eight battle with No. 19 Harvard on Saturday, looking to get back into first place with a victory. That contest kicks off at 1 p.m. in Cambridge, Mass.
