Madrid unleashes itself in the second quarter and liquidates Virtus (100-74)

Virtus Bologna, without Scariolo, arrived in Madrid as one of the four teams chasing the Euroleague leader. And he wasn’t able to stop him either. Madrid once again showed its best version in less than three minutes of the second quarter when they blew away the Italians. It was a 15-2 partial led by Chus Mateo’s two most differential players. “Facu” Campazzo (18 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals for a rating of 39) gave the starting signal and after him the entire team joined in with Tavares (17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks for 28 rating) as executor.

Madrid once again reached a hundred points in their sixteenth victory in 16 games. The five starting players were above 10 points and the whites’ offensive recital is on its way to becoming customary.

Baskonia and Valencia, who were playing as visitors, had very different fortunes. The Vitorians added their second win in two games in Europe with Dusko Ivanovic. A five-meter basket with the defender attached by Miller-McIntyre allowed the Basques to win in Piraeus. Valencia suffered their second defeat in the tournament at the hands of Milan. Mumbrú’s team was a toy in the hands of Mirotic (19 points) and company.
