Longer forced break for Real star Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid will be without their Brazilian international Vinicius Junior for a few weeks. As the “Royals” announced on Saturday, the 23-year-old tore a muscle in his thigh in the “Selecao” World Cup qualifier against Colombia on Friday in Barranquilla. A tendon in the Brazilian’s left leg was also affected. Real did not provide any information about the likely duration of the outage.

ÖFB ace David Alaba’s employer said they were monitoring developments. However, the attacker will probably have to take a break for several weeks. He had already had to miss a few games in September due to a muscle injury.

Vinicius Junior will also be missing from the Brazilian national team – along with superstar Neymar, who has been injured for a long time – in the World Cup qualifier against world champions Argentina on Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro. Despite their first defeat in World Cup qualifying, captain Lionel Messi’s team leads the table, while Brazil is only fifth. The record world champions lost the game in Colombia 1-2.
