Ligue 1: the Niçois provide the minimum service to get back to within one point of PSG

What you must remember :

Well, not much for 45 minutes… The first half of this OGC Nice-Toulouse FC was extremely boring. No shots on target on less than 10 attempts, and a ball that had difficulty landing in each of the two areas. The only thrill finally came in the 2nd minute of play. On an overrun on the left wing, the Toulouse team managed to infiltrate the Nice area. Vincent Sierro then thought he was delivering an assist to Frank Magri, but the Swiss midfielder made a mistake by falling on his pass, and the goal was therefore logically refused by the referee.

Fortunately, the second act provided more opportunities. Nice woke up and, as often, the Aiglons were clinical. With their first shot on target, the Niçois found the net (55th). It all started with a ball recovered on the left wing near the halfway line. What followed was an excellent one-touch passing game, until Morgan Sanson delivered a caviar to Terem Moffi, alone in front of the Toulouse goal. The end of the match could have shaken the Niçois, particularly in added time with Toulouse’s first shot on target, but they held on.

Thanks to this 1-0 success, the fifth on this score this season, OGC Nice returns to one point behind Paris Saint-Germain (30 points), leader of Ligue 1, and remains the best defense in the championship and Europe, with only 4 goals conceded after 13 days.

At the state: 13

For the first time in the history of Ligue 1, a club, in this case OGC Nice, has gone 13 games in a row without ever being behind. The previous record was held by Bordeaux during the 1984-1985 season. Furthermore, the Aiglons have not conceded a goal since September 15 against PSG (3-2).

The player: Terem Moffi

Yet caught in a bad patch, with 7 games without scoring a single goal, the former FC Lorient striker has rediscovered the taste for scoring. Moffi now has 4 goals and 2 assists in 13 games. Even if he did not have to force his talent on his first opportunity of the match.

Brest wins in Montpellier, Metz overthrows Lorient

The Brestois ended a drought of 5 matches without a win in Ligue 1 (2 draws, 3 defeats). After their excellent start to the season, Eric Roy’s men returned to victory on Sunday afternoon against Montpellier (3-1). A CSC from Maxime Estève launched the Bretons (1-0, 20th), but the penalty from Téji Savanier (1-1, 51st) put the Héraultais back in the match. On a delivery from Steve Mounié, Mathias Pereira Lage crossed his shot in an appropriate manner (2-1, 64th). Kamory Doumbia drove the point home in added time (3-1, 90th+3).

If the match between Nantes and Le Havre had nothing notable except the expulsion of André Ayew (0-0), the meeting between Lorient and Metz was much more spectacular. In the first action of the match, Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly already gave Messins the advantage (1-0, 1st). An individual feat from Roman Faivre (7th) and an opportunistic goal from Eli Junior Kroupi (22nd) gave the Merlus a one-goal advantage. But the goals from Ismaël Traoré (2-2, 65th) and the penalty from Ablie Jallow (3-2, 83rd) gave the victory to Metz who climbed into the first part of the table (9th).
