Legal Battle: Boris Becker’s Fight Over Television Report with Oliver Pocher

Former tennis star Boris Becker feels his personal rights have been violated because of a television report. A second instance verdict is now expected in the press law case.

In the legal dispute between the former tennis star Boris Becker and the TV comedian Oliver Pocher, the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court wants to announce its decision on Tuesday (12.30 p.m.) in Freiburg. A television report from the RTL program “Pocher – dangerously honest” from 2020 is controversial. At its core, the case is about whether Becker’s personal rights were violated. The Freiburg branch of the Higher Regional Court is the appeal authority. Becker (56) failed in the first instance in November last year with the civil lawsuit against comedian Pocher (45).

According to his lawyer, the former tennis professional demands that the post no longer be sent and that it be deleted from the Internet. The three-time Wimbledon winner Becker had challenged the verdict from Offenburg in Baden. (dpa/mp)
