LeBron James Opens Museum in Hometown Acknowledging Multifaceted Achievements

If LeBron James has not forgotten something, since he began to caress fame, it is his origins. He never renounced being a boy from Akron, Ohio, and today he can boast of important sports records such as being the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, but also other great milestones off the court.

The joys accumulate, because after becoming the first player to surpass 39,000 points, on Tuesday against the Jazz, this Saturday, November 25, ‘The King’ will inaugurate his own museum, which will be called ‘LeBron James’ Home Court’.

Not many legends have a space dedicated to them, and what makes it more special is that it opens in their hometown.

It is a tribute dedicated to the player and the multiple records achieved in his career, but without forgetting his origins and his contribution to the community in which he grew up.

It also reflects LeBron’s entrepreneurial profile, who in all these years has diversified his concerns outside the hardwood.

The opening of the exhibition has been scheduled to coincide with the Lakers’ visit to the Cavaliers this Saturday, a new return for LeBron to play against his former team, but this time with the bonus of seeing a project already working in which He has been working for two years.

“I would say this museum is what I am most excited about, there are many years behind this. I think we’re going to make visitors excited to see how far I’ve come and the influence of my family. There is no better place to do it than ‘House 330’ to help everyone there. My museum is going to be great,” LeBron James himself commented on his Foundation’s social networks.

House 330 is the home base of the LeBron James Family Foundation and is located in downtown Akron. This institution has been operating since 2004, helping the community.

In March this facility was expanded and offers families the possibility of having community areas and top-level sports and cultural facilities.

Tickets cost $23, another nod, this time to its number, with free admission for children up to five years old. Everything the museum raises will be reinvested in the Akron community itself.

“My dream was always to put Akron on the map. Having a place in my city that allows me to share my career with fans around the world means a lot to me,” LeBron commented in an interview during an event for his Foundation at the beginning of the year.

It will be a special place, with multimedia areas, like the one that recreates the apartment where he and his mother Gloria lived. “I’m known for having accomplished a lot of things over the years, and I always knew there would be a time and a place to bring them to light,” LeBron said, referring to his new museum.

Among the exhibits are the white suit he wore on draft night in 2003, his jersey from the McDonald’s All American game, as well as an original scoreboard and basket from St. Vincent-St. Mary in which he began to play.

A series of objects for which, if they were put up for auction, they would offer millions of dollars, but which from this week will be exhibited in the museum.

For Michele Campbell, executive director of the Foundation, the goal of this place is not only to be visited by local Akron fans.

“We definitely want this to be a destination for all those who want to come, these facilities are to open the doors to anyone who is interested in visiting the city,” he said.

The story line begins in his small apartment in SpringHill, leading to his years at St. Vincent-St. Mary, a place for kids with a different profile than LeBron and his friends, but which gave them scholarships and allowed them to study at this center; There they demonstrated extremely high performance with the basketball team, which they proclaimed state champion on three occasions.

What is exhibited in the museum does not refer only to basketball. “You can see the television on which he followed the games from home, the computer with which he did his homework and his first trophies when he began to emerge,” says Michele.

His successes outside the NBA are also reflected, such as the Olympic golds with the United States in the Beijing and London Games, as well as a replica of his current office, in Los Angeles, from which he carries out his most entrepreneurial work with multiple Business projects.

A part of the exhibition recognizes James’ entrepreneurial character, and it is no coincidence that last May he became the first active basketball player to be a billionaire. His intelligent investments have also led him to shine in business.

LeBron founded the ‘Fenway Sports’ Group with his friend Maverick Carter, with which they have invested in sports institutions such as the Boston Red Sox or Liverpool FC, in addition to being the main driving force in trying to acquire an expansion franchise of the NBA, presumably in Las Vegas.

‘Blaze Pizza’ is his restaurant chain, ‘Ladder’ his sports nutrition company, ‘Lobos’ his tequila… and so on you could continue until you understand why LeBron James turns everything he touches into gold. It seems evident that his move to Los Angeles was not solely for sporting reasons.

LeBron always had a nod in many of these successes towards Akron, which is why the name of his entertainment production company located in California is ‘Springhill Company’, because that is also the name of the humble apartments in which he was raised by his mother, Gloria.
