The Pre-Olympic draw, held at the Patrick Baumann Basketball House, FIBA headquarters (Mies, Switzerland), has divided the 24 teams into four tournaments, with venues in Valencia (Spain), Piraeus (Greece), Riga (Latvia) and San Juan (Puerto Rico), each of which will have six national teams divided into two groups (A and B).

The first two from each of the groups (A and B) will access a semi-final match (first against second), from which the two finalists will emerge who will compete for the Olympic place.
So, In the case of Spain, if they are first or second in group A in Valencia, they should face the first or second in group B (Finland, Poland, Bahamas) to win that pre-Olympic that grants the place for Paris 2024.
In Brazil, which is in B in Riga, those who are best in A (Georgia, Philippines, Latvia) should be measured to achieve the Olympic pass; while Mexico, in the A of San Juan, should do it against those in its B (Italy, Puerto Rico, Bahrain).
Nineteen teams qualified through the World Cupwhich was held in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia this year, and the remaining five teams that will make up the competition were the winners of the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments held in August this year.
The winner of each FIBA 2024 Olympic qualification tournament will obtain a direct ticket to the Paris Olympicsjoining the seven teams (Australia, Japan, South Sudan, Canada, United States, Serbia and Germany) that have already qualified directly from the World Cup, plus event host France.
