LaLiga has issued a statement this Saturday in response to what it considers “the serious statements, riddled with falsehoods and lacking foundation, made by the president of Real Madrid CF, Florentino Pérez,” during the development of the Ordinary General Assembly.
In it, the employers make a series of assessments regarding these falsehoods that they consider from LaLiga. First he accuses the leaders of the Real Madrid of “trying to impose their particular interests to the detriment of the interest of the National League Championship and the rest of the clubs”
Secondly, he reminds the president of Real Madrid that “decisions are legitimately adopted by the affiliated clubs whose members are democratically elected and following a majority regime through secret ballot since 2014, in the interest of democracy.”

Thirdly, he remembers what he understands to be a common trend and where the “assembly agreements with the only vote against Real Madrid.” Agreements that, according to the statement, seek the overall improvement of the clubs but “that obviously do nothing to benefit their particular projects such as the Super League”
The next point is related to CVC project, approved by the Extraordinary General Assembly of LaLiga in December 2021 and where, despite what was expressed by the president of Real Madrid, there is no regulatory violation and that contrary to what is stated, “’the right to distribute audiovisual income is not violated’. Furthermore, he recalls that the ‘alleged economic damage to the newly promoted clubs’ mentioned by the white manager, “adhering to it is voluntary since the project was approved, therefore also for those who are promoted.”
LaLiga also considers false the accusations regarding LaLiga’s alleged claims regarding the processing of the Sports Law; Far from it, LaLiga has adopted a defensive posture of preserving the existing model under the previous Sports Law. As are also false “the claims about LaLiga’s lack of transparency regarding the information provided to Real Madrid for the approval of its annual LaLiga accounts and settlement of audiovisual rights”

Finally, he denounces other moments of the white president’s speech, especially with “an obvious demagogy regarding the price of televised football, taking into account that it is possible to watch football for less than 100 euros per month, thanks to the operators’ offers.”
And he ends up responding to accusations regarding the annual salary of the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas. Here the employers’ association recalls that the “president has not suffered an increase in accordance with the terms signed in the original 2019 contract, the approval of some variable criteria is distorted, all of which was approved by the LaLiga assembly in accordance with its statutes.”
