Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray has received several special defensive assignments from the team’s coaching staff during the first weeks of the season. Among these tasks that have been assigned to him is trying to neutralize the rival team’s top offensive reference during long stretches of the matches. And he hasn’t been bad at all.
Kings coach Mike Brown praised Murray for his defensive work on Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell earlier in the week, hitting him at 20% in direct matchups. Two days later he named him defensive player of the game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
