This man has won just about everything there is to win in club basketball. Karsten Tadda (35) from Bamberg Baskets is a playing legend in the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga.

But there are actually records that the 89-time national player has not yet broken. The one of the player with the most BBL appearances, for example. Alex King (including Alba, Bayern, Skyliners/end of career in 2022) is still at the top here with 638 games.
But Tadda is on the rise, most recently overtaking Rickey Paulding (until 2022 at EWE Baskets Oldenburg/584 matches) and is now in second place with 585 games (as of November 3rd, 2023).
In the Dyn-Talk “Bastis Corner” with host Bastian Doreth (34), he initially downplays this number: “This milestone doesn’t really mean much to me. It’s always something for the statisticians. The number really only shows how many years I’ve had under my belt.”

But then it becomes clear that he would definitely like to set the record: “It obviously makes you pretty proud to have played so many games now. But I’m not at the end yet, so there will be a few more, hopefully.”
And further: “I have no intention of knocking him off the throne now. Alex is the only true king – literally. If it worked out in the end, I would of course be very happy about it.”

So he still needs 53 appearances to catch up with King. His contract in his hometown, to which Tadda returned after eight years, runs until 2025. And he still leaves it open whether that will really be the end: “I have to see how my body develops. If the club says they want me in the team for another year, then I will definitely think about it.”
Sounds like Tadda will get this “title” too…
