Last Saturday, November 18, the Judo Club Ribera Navarra participated in the I Anaitasuna Judo Tournament held at the facilities of the host society. More than 200 judokas from the children’s and cadet categories, representing 30 teams from different regions such as Navarra, the Basque Country, Catalonia, Castilla León, and Andorra, participated in this outstanding competition.
The Judo Club Ribera Navarra was present with 7 athletes, supported by their coach, Maika Burgaleta, and the club delegate, Mariya Kirbhizekova. The participation of the Judo Club Ribera Navarra resulted in a total of 5 medals in various categories.

The tournament was structured in two blocks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the first block, children’s judokas Carolina Pérez Kirbizhekova and Vega Lizaso Terrado won the silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the -36 kilo category. Leire Oruezábal Martínez achieved bronze in less than 52 kilos, while Daniela Urru Fernández competed bravely in the same category.
In the second block, Lukas Lorente Rojas from Tudela, in less than 55 kilos for children, took the bronze medal after winning by Ippon in three of his fights. Finally, Leire Cortijo León, in -48 kilos, won another bronze medal, successfully closing the participation of the Judo Club Ribera Navarra in this tournament.
