JC Thorembais: The Club in Walloon Brabant Making a Comeback with Women’s and Men’s Teams

The only club in Walloon Brabant, with Grez-Doiceau, to field a team for both women and men, JC Thorembais is enjoying its return to business. Example with Marie Mulligan, a new affiliate who had not participated in a tournament for… more than ten years. “I probably would never have returned to competition if I hadn’t been pushed behind my back by the other girls in the clubrecognizes the young mother. But there, being on the mat with people I like and fighting in a good-natured atmosphere, without pressure, it motivates and makes you want to surpass yourself. And then, it strengthens cohesion within the group. It’s very nice to experience.”

“The only thing we want is to have fun”

Far from aiming for a podium, the two JC Thorembais teams are above all looking to have fun during this 2023 interclub season. “The only thing we want is to have fun, assure Johan Landry. We still lack the experience to tickle the strongest, but the important thing is elsewhere. Currently, the goal is to allow younger people to gain experience to try, later, to perhaps play leading roles.”

And – who knows? – to perhaps move up a division in one or two years.
