Region Japan (Little League Baseball World Series)

The Japan region is one of the eight international regions that sends participants to the Little League Baseball World Series, the largest baseball tournament for youth. The Japan region has been taking part in this tournament since 1962, back then under the name Far East Region. When the field of participants was doubled in 2001 The Far East region was divided into the Asia and Pacific regions. Japan played in the Asia group. In 2007 the groups were brought together again to form the Asia Pacific group and Japan became its own region.
