Grand Slam record winner Novak Djokovic’s losing streak with Serbia in the Davis Cup continues. The 36-year-old lost both matches in the semi-finals in Malaga (ESP), with Serbia losing to Italy 1-2. The country’s last title was 13 years ago. The southern Europeans, led by Jannik Sinner, will play their first Davis Cup final in a quarter of a century against Australia on Sunday. The only title won in the team competition came in 1976.

Before the semi-final, a media report about the Serbs refusing a doping test before the quarter-final against Great Britain caused a stir. Like the Spanish one Brand reported further, the team agreed to blood and urine samples after the game.
