James Harden’s Debut with Clippers: Navigating the Challenge of a Star-Studded Lineup

It’s the big night for James Harden. This Monday in New York, the bearded man will play his first match in his new Clippers jersey, and will be aligned in the major five with stars Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook. An expected debut that was well worth a dress rehearsal.

We know that bringing together big names – however talented they may be – is never easy, even more so in the case of the Clippers where we have four basketball players who are all “ball” players. James Harden said it himself during his induction press conference: “I’m not a system player, I AM a system”. Except that Kawhi could say the same, Paul George too, just like Westbrook if we go back a few years.

The truth is that to accomplish their goal, the Clippers will have to become a team where each member of the quartet finds their place to have an overall balance on a collective level, rather than stars who take turns doing their “thing” while the other three watch.
