Jānis Jaks, a hockey player of the Latvian national team and the Czech extra league club Litvīnova “Verva”, has suffered an injury that will prevent him from playing for several weeks, the team announced.

“Verva” states that Yak is recovering from an upper body injury he got when he hit the goal post. “Jak was injured in the match against “Ocelari” of Tršinec. Now we will miss him for several weeks,” said Tomaš Vrabel, sports director of “Verva”.

Jak played 20 Czech extra league games this season, accumulating 10 (3+7) performance points, 10 penalty minutes and a negative efficiency coefficient of -4. Jak is the most productive defender of the “Verva” team and the 11th most productive defender in the entire league. It should be reminded that Kristaps Zīle is also part of “Verva”. The unit currently ranks third in the tournament table with 39 points in 20 matches.
