Trevor Lawrence threw for 364 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville’s divisional victory over the Texans for control of the AFC South.
The Jaguars secured the victory when kicker Matt Ammendola, with 34 seconds left, missed a 58-yard field goal attempt that crashed off the crossbar.
Thus, Jacksonville took revenge for its 37-17 home loss against Houston (6-5) in Week 3 and distanced itself at the top of the division.
CJ Stroud, the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns in the loss that ended a three-game winning streak. He has thrown for 3,268 yards on the season, passing Justin Herbert (3,224) for the most in NFL history by a rookie through his first 11 games.
The Texans led by one point after Stroud’s touchdown run midway through the third quarter. Lawrence responded with a one-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Ridley and repeat connection for a two-point conversion that made the game 21-14.
