“It’s not an accident, it’s an attack”: rugby player Chalureau on the gridiron during his appeal trial

After having lunch on the sunny terrace of an establishment near the Place des Carmes in Toulouse, Bastien Chalureau was expected this Tuesday afternoon at the court of appeal for the attack on two former rugby players in January 2020. First sentenced six-month suspended prison sentence, three years ago, for “acts of violence (…) committed because of the race or ethnicity of the victim” during an alcoholic evening, the second line of the French team, which participated in the last World Cup, appealed, denying the racist nature of the facts.
