Ice hockey in the NHL: Draisaitl ends Oilers series of bankruptcies

Led by double goal scorer and preparer Leon Draisaitl, the Edmonton Oilers have ended their losing streak in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL.

After three defeats, the Canadians won 5-0 at the Washington Capitals on Friday (November 24th, 2023).

Draisaitl was involved in Evander Kane’s 1-0 victory and scored twice in the lead. His congenial strike colleague Connor McDavid provided four assists. For the Oilers it was their sixth win of the season in the 19th game and their first without conceding a goal.

Washington, on the other hand, suffered its first defeat after five wins in a row. Draisaitl now has 26 scorer points (8 goals, 18 assists).

Detroit beats Boston

The German national players Moritz Seider and Lukas Reichel were also successful. Seider and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Eastern Conference leaders Boston Bruins 5-2.

Reichel and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 after overtime. The two Germans did not collect any scorer points.
