Victorious in Cyprus (1-3), Spain, already qualified for Euro 2024, ensured its top seed status in the draw by finishing at the top of its group ahead of Scotland, held in check in Georgia (2-2). In Group G, Hungary, which could qualify this Thursday evening, was able to do so at the last second in Bulgaria (2-2).

What a finale in Sofia. On the pitch at the Vassil Levski stadium, Hungary long thought they would end up frustrated by their match against Bulgaria, the red bottom of group G. The deal was simple at kick-off: in order to obtain a third consecutive qualification for the championship. In Europe, Marco Rossi’s players had to not lose against their opponent. Martin Adam quickly gave the visitors the advantage (0-1, 10th) in this match played behind closed doors. However, Delev managed to equalize quite quickly (1-1, 24th) thus reigniting the suspense. The match was lively with two expulsions, one from each side – Antov for the locals in the 36th and Kerkez for the visitors in the 57th. The penalty converted by Despodov in favor of the locals (2-1, 78th) then created a bad scenario for Hungary but, on the last free kick of the match, the unfortunate Petkov sent the ball into his own net (2-2 , 90th+7). To the great happiness of Hungary, guaranteed to compete in the next Euro after an evening rich in emotions. In this same group, Montenegro will face Lithuania this Thursday evening (8:45 p.m.).

Spain was already qualified like Scotland for Euro 2024, but was playing first place in its group given that the two selections had the same number of points in the ranking. While Scotland held on to a draw in added time against Kvaratskhelia’s Georgia, scorer of a double (2-2), La Roja went on to win in Cyprus (3-1). Victorious in the first leg (0-6), the selection led by Luis de la Fuente did not hang around in Limassol. From the 5th minute of play, the young Lamine Yamal scored his second goal for the selection (0-1, 5th) before Mikel Oyarzabal (2-0, 23rd) then Joselu (3-0, 28th) gave no more magnitude to the score. The reduction of the gap, the work of Pilea (3-1, 75th) changed nothing. Guaranteed to be seeded in the Euro draw, scheduled for December 2, La Roja will try to finish well with a final meeting against Georgia on Sunday (8:45 p.m.).

In group F, Austria won in Estonia (0-3), taking the lead with 2 points more than Belgium, which has 1 game less. Azerbaijan largely dominated Sweden (3-0).
