Hockey player arrested after horrific throat-slitting incident on court

A man has been arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of hockey player Adam Johnson, whose throat was cut during the game, the BBC reports.

The Nottingham Panthers player was injured with his skates in a match against the Sheffield Steelers on October 28.

The 29-year-old hockey player was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination confirmed Johnson died of blunt force trauma to the neck, South Yorkshire Police said.

Police said detectives arrested the suspect Tuesday, adding that he remains in custody.
