Professional baseball team Hanwha has recruited a new foreign hitter.
Hanwha announced on the 19th, “We have recruited a new foreign hitter, Yonathan Perlaza.” The terms are a total of $1 million (approximately KRW 1.3 billion), including a contract deposit of $200,000, an annual salary of $600,000, and an option of $200,000.
Peraza is a corner outfielder from Venezuela and born in 1998. Peraza, a right-handed switch hitter, is 175cm tall and 88kg tall.
Hanwha introduced, “Ferraza is a mid-to-long range hitter who produces strong batted balls based on his small but solid body and fast bat speed.” He added, “We expect that he will energize the young team atmosphere with his passionate play style.”
Peraza, who joined the American professional baseball Chicago Cubs in 2015, was promoted to Triple A last season. In 121 games, he had a batting average of .200, 80, 4, 23 home runs, a slugging percentage of .503, 4, and an OPS of .900, 200, 200 plus on-base percentage.
