During this weekend, the recently remodeled Golden Triangle Municipal Sports Center hosted the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation’s basketball tournament. A dozen teams have participated in this national competition organized by the Madrid Basketball Federation.
The councilor of Tetuán, Paula Gómez-Angulo, has presented the awards for this fourteenth edition that continues to score points in solidarity. During the tournament, players and attendees have received educational talks on bone marrow transplant.
“It is a source of satisfaction to offer these magnificent facilities and to be filled with the values of sport with this championship that transcends the fields to score points in favor of hope and solidarity. Bone marrow transplant is the only possible solution for people who suffer from leukemia and other hematological diseases,” recalled Gómez-Angulo.
In total, six men’s teams (Real Madrid, Valencia Basket, Barcelona, Saltium Alcorcón Basket, Baloncesto Fuenlabrada and the Madrid children’s team) and four women’s teams (Movistar Estudiantes, Real Canoe, Rivas Parque Sureste and the Madrid team) have participated in the tournament.
