GAK defeated SV Stripfing 2-1 in the second round of the cup. In the second league they are still confidently leaders.
Defending champion Sturm beat Leobendorf 3-0. Sturm also leads the table, but suffered the loss of important points and their first defeat of the season in the 0-1 home defeat against Vienna Austria.
Last season there was already a Graz derby in the ÖFB Cup round of 16. The eventual cup winner Sturm Graz narrowly defeated GAK 1-0.
