French Small Football Team Denied World Cup Participation Due to Lack of Funding

Due to lack of funding for a trip to Buenos Aires, the French small football team will not be able to participate in the World Cup dedicated to players under 1.49m.

France could have played in a Football World Cup, starting on November 6. For the first time in its history, the French team for short people (PPT) was qualified for the World Cup which is held for a week in Argentina and which is reserved for players under 1.49m. But due to lack of money, these Blues cannot go to Buenos Aires. The trip costs 17,000 euros.

“We were not supported by the Ministry of Sports or by the government,” laments Ayena Adjido, president of the Football PPT France association, on BFMTV.

“I even contacted Brigitte Macron to ask for her support. She replied to me telling me that the Ministry of Sports was going to come back to me. It never came back to me,” he confides.

A jackpot had been opened to help finance the trip. But it only raised 215 euros.

The association wants to affiliate with the FFF

Near West France, Ayena Adjido specified that the French Football Federation (FFF) could not provide help given that the association is not part of the body. What he would like to change for the future, with the desire to obtain an affiliation with the FFF and create their own small French football championship.

The matches are played indoors, seven against seven. 16 countries are qualified: Ecuador, Spain, Iraq, India, Paraguay, Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Morocco, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, France, United States .

In 2018, Argentina had already organized a first small-scale international football tournament, which was at the time called “Copa America”. Paraguay won 3-0 in the final against the host country. But the Argentines took their revenge in 2022.
