Francs Borains Announce End of Partnership with Coach Arnaud Mercier, Appoint Sébastien Grandjean as Successor

Francs Borains has announced that he will end his partnership with 51-year-old French coach Arnaud Mercier following a mutual agreement between both parties. The decision follows the club’s 0-1 defeat against Deinze in the Challenger Pro League.

Arnaud Mercier’s successor is already known: Sébastien Grandjean, 53, former coach and sporting director of Virton. Grandjean has been without a club since leaving Fola Esch in Luxembourg in May 2022.

Arnaud Mercier joined Francs Borains in March 2022, after previously coaching Seraing, Roeselare and Waasland-Beveren. His return coincided with the club’s promotion to the Challenger Pro League at the end of the previous season.

The rest of Francs Borains’ staff remains in place. After Saturday’s 0-1 defeat against Deinze, the team is 13th in the Challenger Pro League with 13 points from 13 games.
