France: Marseille-Olympique Lyon will be played on December 6 – Football

Ligue 1 has scheduled the match between Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon for December 6, which was canceled last Sunday after the attack on the Lyon team’s bus which led to the injury of OL coach Fabio Grosso.

However, the location of the meeting has not yet been chosen, which is the subject of tension between the two teams.

The French League competitions commission opted for the “first available date based on the calendars of the two teams”. The League indicated that it would indicate “subsequently the location of the meeting, awaiting complementary elements from the public authorities that will allow it to be held in optimal safety conditions for all its actors and the public”.

Already on Tuesday, Lyon officials had begun to pressure the French League, explaining that they wanted to play the match on a neutral pitch, believing that “the safety conditions for playing in Marseille were not met”.

“We want the safety of our players to be guaranteed. They are here to play football and we ask that they don’t get a stone on the head,” said the club’s general director, Vincent Ponsot.

As for OM, the issue is different: “It’s not up to me to talk about it, it’s up to the club to do it. But I hope that we play with our fans and in our stadium, obviously,” said coach Gennaro Gattuso.
