Former NFL Receiver Devon Wylie Passes Away at 35

Devon Wylie, the former receiver of teams like Kansas City Chiefs y Tennessee Titans passed away this Wednesday at 35 years old.

The family of the former NFL player was in charge of breaking the news through social networks to inform all those who knew and admired the footballer.

“We wanted to make this post so that people who knew and loved Devon could learn of his passing.” because we do not have the ability to reach everyone at this difficult time,” Wylie’s family wrote.

However, the details of the death were reserved, since the causes that could have caused it have not yet been disclosed.

Devon Wylie began his career with the Fresno State Bulldogs, where he shone between 2007 and 2011; later came to NFL by being selected in the fourth round of the 2012 draft for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Unfortunately, his performance was not what the team expected and for the following season went to the Titans, where continued with ups and downs, partly due to injuries that prevented him from demonstrating his talent to the fullest.

During this time the former player was also part of the practice teams of the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Rams, Raiders y Atlanta Falcons.

Finally, the former receiver chose to try his luck in Canada, where He was part of the Toronto Argonauts, of the Canadian Football League, in 2016 and 2017.

His college football team, the Fresno State Bulldogs, dedicated a publication to him in which they mourned his loss and sent condolences to the family.

“Forever a Bulldog. Our thoughts are with the Wylie family during this difficult time,” was the Bulldogs’ statement.

Fresno State special teams coordinator John Baxter, who worked closely with Wylie, also expressed sadness about what happened.

“I can not believe thisit’s a tremendous loss. Being someone’s coach is a blessing beyond words and a lifelong relationship. It is a tragic loss beyond words. What a great Bulldog, brother, son and teammate! We love you!, Devon Wylie, born Bulldog,” he wrote.

This is the third death of a former NFL player this week, following the loss of DJ Hayden of the Raiders, who died in a car accidentand Matt Ulrich, of the Colts
