The German U17 national team is causing a sensation at the World Cup in Indonesia. The DFB youth team beat Argentina on penalties in a dramatic semi-final and is aiming for the World Cup title in the final against France.
The final will be broadcast on free TV. The game on Saturday in Surakarta against France’s youngsters will be shown live on RTL from 1 p.m. The moderator is Florian König, the commentator is Marco Hagemann. Steffen Freund is there as an expert. The trio is otherwise in action for RTL at international matches for the senior national team.

The World Cup games of DFB coach Christian Wück’s team have so far been presented free of charge by Sky. The pay-TV broadcaster will also show the final in a live stream, freely accessible on skysport.de and in the SkySport app.
To date, the only time a DFB team has appeared in a World Cup final was in 1985 – at that time U16 teams still competed against each other – and were defeated by Nigeria 2-0. A German team led by Rani Khedira and Mitchell Weiser reached a semi-final in Mexico in 2011. At that time the team came third.
