Filip Misolic Advances to Round of 16 at ATP Challenger in Maspalomas after Confident Win

Filip Misolic made a confident start at the ATP Challenger in Maspalomas, Spain.

The Styrian, seeded number three, had no trouble in the first round against Henri Squire (GER/ATP-261st), deservedly beat the German 6:3, 6:4 and is in the round of 16.

However, the game doesn’t start the way Misolic wanted, so Squire gets a break in the first game and gains an advantage, which the 22-year-old can get back with two subsequent breaks and then secure the win in the first set.

Misolic continues confidently – Neumayer has no chance

Things get tighter in the second set. Only when the score was 3:3 did Misolic make the decisive break and was able to secure the second set and thus the game victory with 6:4.

In the round of 16, Misolic will face Gerard Campana Lee from South Korea (ATP 386th) on Wednesday (from 11 a.m./LIVE ticker >>>).

ÖTV compatriot Lukas Neumayer has less to laugh about in the second German-Austrian duel against Timo Stodder (ATP 328th).

The 21-year-old clearly lost to the German 3:6, 3:6 in the end due to too many mistakes that led to a total of four breaks and had to say goodbye to the field in the first round.
