BURSA (AA) – Fenerbahçe Beko beat TOFAŞ 95-86 away in the 6th week of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League.
Fenerbahçe Beko started the match quickly with consecutive points and went on to score 7-0 in the second minute. Although TOFAŞ responded to its opponent with points from Homesley, Make and Wiley and equalized the score (11-11) in the 5th minute, Fenerbahçe Beko, which played with high accuracy in outside shots, ended the quarter ahead 30-19.
TOFAŞ started the second quarter quickly and managed to close the gap in the 14th minute with points from Prewitt and Homesley: 28-32. The guest team reacted well to this return, benefiting especially from Motley’s points under the basket and from Hayes in the set attacks, and entered the locker room with Fenerbahçe Beko leading 53-42.
Starting the third quarter more energetically and disciplined, TOFAŞ did not give the guest team an easy chance in defense. On the offensive side, the Bursa representative made Tolga Geçim score with two three-pointers in set attacks and managed to equalize the score in the 23rd minute: 55-55. The yellow-dark blue team played better in the remaining minutes of the quarter, which witnessed tough defenses as both teams tried to gain the advantage, and went into the final period leading 74-70.
Fenerbahçe Beko punished TOFAŞ, which made simple ball losses at the beginning of the last period, with three-point hits from Şehmus Hazer and Sestina, and suddenly increased the difference to double digits (72-82) in the 34th minute. Bursa team lost its energy on the court as the difference widened and Fenerbahçe Beko played the remaining minutes well and won the match 95-86.
